The National Weather Service is expecting cool and dry weather Friday, with a light freeze across east Texas and central Louisiana.

Warmer weather is forecast Saturday, with continued dry conditions. Rain returns to the forecast late Sunday into Monday and Tuesday. One to two inches of rain is possible. As colder temperatures come in early Wednesday morning, there is a small chance that elevated roads and bridges could see some frozen spots in east Texas and central Louisiana due to the amount of rain see the previous two days.

The weather service will watch to see if any lingering precipitation could be frozen as well in central Louisiana early Wednesday – but forecast confidence is low at this point on that scenario.
