Bridge City High School competed at the Port Neches-Groves UIL Academic Meet on Saturday, Feb. 14. The following are the results from this meet:

In Literary Criticism, Jessica McKinney took 1st place. The Literary Criticism team of Jessica McKinney, Tabitha Blakeney, and Stephanie Romero placed 2nd. The sponsor for Literary Criticism is Diane Grooters.

In Spelling, Diana Pham placed 2nd. The Spelling team of Diana Pham, Edward Doan, Sarah Kidder, Faith Stephson, Amanda Chavez, and Kevin Fontenot took 2nd place team. In Prose Interpretation, Bree Cloud placed 6th. The sponsor for these events is Kathie Dorman.

In LD Debate, Emily Lawrence took 1st place, Alex Hargrave took 3rd place, and Ruby Sanders took 5th place. In Informative Speaking, Emily Lawrence placed 2nd and Peyton Duke placed 3rd. In Persuasive Speaking, Ruby Sanders placed 6th. The sponsor for these events is Michael Blakeney.

In Calculator Applications, Kendall Gibson placed 3rd and Moyleang Taing placed 4th. The Calculator Applications team of Kendall Gibson, Moyleang Taing, Kevin Fontenot, and Brianna Cross took 2nd place.
