Gulf Credit Union is offering a deferment option on loan payments for those affected by the United Steelworkers Union strike. “We understand this is a difficult time for many of our members. We began offering loan deferment options several weeks ago for members in this situation and want to be sure those affected know about this alternative,” said Ron Burkhalter, president of Gulf Credit Union.

At this time, workers at refineries across the country, including Texas, Louisiana and California, and other production facilities, are now on strike. It is the first large-scale walkout in the industry in 35 years.
