Orange County Sheriff's Officers are investigating the discovery of a body found by TXDOT workers on the Orange County side of the bridge this afternoon. The body was found in the water near the bridge

Sheriff Merritt has said that it is too early to tell if the body is that of a man or woman and whether or not the death was a suicide.

First responders are in the process of recovering the body and waiting on a judge to order an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
