LSCO and GOACC host job fair

Are you seeking employment or qualified employees? Lamar State College-Orange and the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce are hosting the 2015 Annual LSC-O Campus Career/Job Fair on Thursday, April 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. inside the LSC-O Student Center. LSC-O students, alumni and community members are encouraged to attend the Career/Job Fair. Applicants attending the Career/Job Fair should dress appropriately.

The Career/Job Fair will provide an opportunity for employers to discuss career and/or job options with a diverse group of individuals. Employers will benefit from cost-effective recruiting, maximum visibility and the ability to network and obtain knowledge of available training programs. Any employer with full and/or part-time, co-operative education programs, internships or employment opportunities is invited to attend the career fair.

For those LSC-O students, alumni and community members seeking employment, the career fair will provide an opportunity to network with numerous area employers. Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes with them. A resume writing seminar will be conducted by Alicia Gray, HR Director at LSC-O, on Wednesday April 1, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the Lamar State College – Orange campus inside the Wilson Building in room 101. Space is limited. Individuals planning to attend must RSVP to Franchesca Cole (409) 882-3340 by Monday, March 30.

Some of the employers scheduled to be in attendance at the career fair include: Acadian Ambulance Services, DARS/Division of Rehabilitation Services, Workforce Solutions of Southeast Texas, Wellspring Credit Union, ABC Associated Builders and Contractors of Southeast Texas, iHeart Media, Crockett Resource Center for Independent Living, Inc., The Networks of 12 News, South East Texas Council on Alcohol Drug & Abuse, State Farm, Granger Chevrolet, HomeInstead Senior Care, Comfort Inn, Steve Collazo, Bill Clark Pest Control, Orange Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation,L.P., Shangri La, Christus Health-Southeast Texas, Complete Staffing, Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Beaumont Hospital, St. Mary School, Bridge City ISD, Bob Hope Charter School, Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School, West Orange-Cove ISD, and Ehrhart School.

Booth space is limited and admission is free. It is not too late to reserve a booth. Employers may reserve a booth by contacting Judy Choate at (409) 882-3379, email at [email protected] or by fax, at (409) 8823049 by April 3. There is not a fee to participate.

The exhibit booth size is 8 x 10 with one 6 foot skirted table and two chairs. Employers will be eligible for door prizes and will be served a light breakfast and lunch.
