There may be some people running like rabbits this Easter weekend in Bridge City.

The second annual Rotary Days Bunny Run and Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 9 a.m. at Bridge City Elementary School, 1035 West Roundbunch Road on Saturday, April 4. There will be a 5K run, and 1K run for kids and the first year of having an Easter egg hunt for kids.

This event will benefit Bridge City High School and Orangefield High School with scholarships.

Organizers Eric Andrus and Nick Plessala said they wanted to do something different to raise scholarship funds with something people are interested in. Both high schools will be present raising money for Project Graduation through the sale of snacks/drinks.

Andrus said 130 people participated last year and people have been signing up for this year's event.

“We've already have the plastic eggs, a bunny tail and ears and some little awards too,” he said.

Those interested may sign up on the Bunny Run Facebook page or on the Bridge City/Orangefield Rotary Club page.

“There's something for everybody of all ages,” Plessala said.
