The Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce, Bridge City and Vidor Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Golden Triangle Emergency Center on April 22. The newly constructed, state-of-the art, facility is located at 3107 Edgar Brown Drive.

All testing is done quickly, on site, and without the delays associated with traditional, hospital-based emergency departments.

Patients are evaluated by an experienced ER physician within minutes of arriving and leave with any lab results and a disk of images taken.

The Freestanding Emergency Center industry in Texas was created to increase access to medical care with emergency-certified physicians on-site at all times. Centers are required to provide the same level of access and services as hospital-based emergency rooms, with the exception of trauma care. When hospital admission is required, facilities have transfer agreements with area hospitals. As also noted by the Texas Association of Freestanding Emergency Centers (TAFEC), of which Golden Triangle is a member, “Freestanding emergency centers charge equal to or less than hospital ERs for emergency care that often exceeds the hospital ER standard.”
