The National Weather Service is seeing a few showers and thunderstorms this afternoon across parts of east Texas and central and south central Louisiana. This activity is moving north at 20 mph, and will weaken early this evening. Warm temperatures and just an isolated shower or thunderstorm is expected Friday through Sunday, before rain chances increase next week. Strong to severe storms will be possible Monday and Tuesday, and locally heavy rain could extend through the end of the week as a cold front stalls out near the coast.
