Jason Dustan Silva, 44, of Deweyville passed away Thursday, May 14, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Jason was born July 12, 1970 in Manhattan, Ks., to Vera Jean Perkins and David Silva. He had lived most of his life in the Orange area and had worked many years as a welder in the area. Jason enjoyed listening to music, drawing and writing. Jason was a loving person, who loved spending time at home with his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vera Jean Perkins.

Jason is survived by his lifelong companion of 24 years, Peggy Berliew of Deweyville; daughter, Alysia Silva of Deweyville; father, David Silva and wife, Jennifer of Orange; sister, Jean Gilland and husband, Richard of Orange; step sister, Anne Farrell and husband, Joseph of Orange; step brothers, Ronald Stites of Orange and Kelly Stites and wife, Helena of Orangefield. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 20, at Dorman Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to Dorman Funeral Home to help with final expenses. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Dorman Funeral Home.
