The West Orange Stark Mustangs are still in the fight for a trip to the state baseball championships. The Mustangs are the only Orange County team that remains in the 2015 playoffs. On Thursday the Mustangs open a best-of-three series against Carthage in the Region III semifinal round. Game One will take place at Diller Park in Kilgore at 8 p.m. Game Two will take place on Saturday at McNeese State University beginning at 3 p.m. A third game, if necessary, will follow. The Mustangs lost Game One in the series but came back to beat Bellville 14-2 in six innings in Game Two. The Mustangs then polished off Bellville with a 4-1 victory in Game Three.
