NWS forecasting warm, dry weekend

Last updated 6/4/2015 at Noon

The National Weather Service is forecasting a warm and dry period for Friday and Saturday, before small rain chances return to the picture on Sunday. The best chances for showers and thunderstorms will be in the middle to end of next week.

The Sabine and Neches Rivers are slowly falling, but the Red River is still rising near Alexandria, La. It will reach moderate flooding early next week and the crest is still over a week away.

In the tropics, a very active pattern is set up in the eastern Pacific Ocean, but the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, and Atlantic are quiet for the next seven days.
