Commissioners may reconsider burn ban

The Orange County Commissioners Court will review the countywide burn ban issued two week ago in light of the recent rainfall when they meet at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 24 in the commissioners' courtroom of the Orange County Administration Building, 123 South 6th St. in Orange.

The commissioners will deliberate upon entering into an Amended Interlocal Agreement with other political subdivisions in, and around, Orange County for the operation of the Southeast Texas Regional Radio System.

The agenda will also authorized Douglas Manning, assistant county attorney, to approve such other amendment that he deems, in the exercise of his professional judgment, to be in the best interest of the county.

Commissioners will discuss and possibly act upon exploring the possibility of leasing certain properties owned by Orange County. These properties were acquired by the county in conjunction with the FEMA related buyouts arising out of Hurricane Ike.

On the agenda is authorization for Orange County to enter into an agreement with Blackboard Connect to provide a county notification.

Three additional grant applications may be approved to be funded by the CDBG On-Site Sewer Facility Project as recommended by the selection committee.

There will be a discussion and possible action authorizing the Early Voting Locations Dates and Times for the November 3, 2015 Constitutional Amendment Election as follows:

Voting will be conducted on the following dates and times:

During the hours of 8:00 AM till 5:00 PM

Monday, October 19, 2015 through Friday, October 23, 2015

Monday, October 26, 2015 through Friday, October 30, 2015

Lastly, a proclamation could be issued for the Julie Rogers “Gift of Life” Program and to proclaim September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Monday, August 24, 2015 as Julie Rogers Gift of Life Program Day in Orange County.
