Orange man in good condition following shooting

Tuesday evening, at 7:06 PM, officers with the Orange Police Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of 14th St., in reference to a shooting victim.

Upon arrival, officders observed a 54 year old black male sitting in a chair in the front yard of a residence. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg. The known male suspect had fled the scene prior to officers arrival. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The victim was attended by Acadian Ambulance Service and the first responders from the Orange Fire Department. He was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by ambulance where he remains in good condition.

The investigation is on-going by the Detective Division of the Orange Police Department.
