UPDATE -According to The Texas Department of Public Safety, one person was hospitalized as the result of a three vehicle accident that involved a Freightliner truck, a utility van, and a pickup at the intersection of Hwy 12 and Hwy 62 in Mauriceville at approximately 1:30 pm. No other information was available at this time. Updates will be added as they become available.

PREVIOUS REPORT - At about 1:30 pm, Friday, Aug. 28, OCSO responded to a major traffic accident at Hwy. 12 and Hwy. 62 in Mauriceville. According to witnesses on the scene, there were three vehicles involved in the accident, with injuries. At this time, there were no troopers on the scene to confirm the report of injuries. Air rescue had also responded to the scene.
