Lamar University students, faculty and staff will celebrate campus history and traditions Sept. 17 on Founders’ Day.

The Lamar Alive! Student Activities Board and the Spirit and Traditions Council will host a Founders’ Day celebration at 11 a.m. in the Quadrangle.

With the help of the LU Band, Cheerleaders and Dance Team, participants will have opportunity to learn more about the university’s founding, history and traditions, and enjoy refreshments.

“At Lamar University, we’re proud of our history and excited about the future,” said Kiet Le, associate director of student activities and civic engagement. “It is important to preserve the traditions of yesterday and build toward an even brighter future.”
