Orange County man injured in auto-pedestrian accident

Sunday, Oct. 4, at 4:23 pm, officers of the Orange Police were dispatched to the 2400 blk. of 16th St. in regards to an auto-pedestrian accident. Upon arrival at 4:25, officers found a 43 year old man from Orange County in the northbound outside lane of traffic. He had been struck by a northbound SUV driven by a woman. The Orange Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance Service responded to the location and the man was transported to Baptist Hospital–Orange. He was then flown by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital inBeaumont. His condition is unknown at this time. There have been no citations issued or charges filed pending the completion of the investigation.
