Clara Hawthorne

The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Clara Hawthorne, 76, of Orange, will be Saturday, Nov. 14, at 11:00 am, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Orange. Rites of Christian burial will follow in Magnolia Memorial Gardens under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.

She died Tuesday, Nov. 10, at The Oaks of Beaumont, in Beaumont.

An Orange native, she lived in California a number of years before returning to Orange in 2003. Her working years were spent as a seamstress.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Hawthorne of Orange; son, Byron Hawthorne of Port Arthur; daughter, Jacquelyn Arion of Long Beach, CA; three brothers, Rudolph Bell of Vinton, Marvin Roberts of Orange and Henry Roberts of Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Deborah Guillory of Austin; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
