Veterans and their St. Mary Catholic School families are shown during the annual Veterans Day program at St. Mary Catholic School.

St. Mary Catholic School held its annual “Veterans Day” program on Nov. 11. Student council members and their sponsor, Angie Smith, worked hard on decorating and making the presentation an honorable event for our Veteran’s . Many Veterans were present and enjoyed the event. Middle school students wrote essays to show the meaning of what a Veteran means to them and coming in first place was Jaggar McCullom. Jaggar read his essay to all present which brought tears to many eyes. Middle school students also had an art contest which Mallory Huggins won.

The guest speaker for this event was an alumni from St. Mary Catholic School, Honorable Pat Clark. Judge Clark spoke about his experience as a Veteran but most importantly about the importance of a valued education and that students should take pride in the education they receive at St. Mary Catholic School.
