Seventh and eighth graders from St. Mary Catholic School participate in JASON project.

St. Mary Catholic School seventh and eighth graders participated in the JASON Project, Wetlands: Race to Restore presentation. Our student argo, Adrian Willingham, was in the video about the importance of alligators in the ecosystem. As the photograph shows, students had the opportunity to test the pH level of orange juice, dishwasher soap, milk, water and potting soil. Students had to predict whether each substance was acidic or basic based on the pH level. pH level of 7 is neutral, while pH level 0-6 (acidic) and pH level 8-14 (basic). Students enjoyed this hands on learning activity.
