The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce announced that the Student of the Month for Orangefield High School is Ty Hawkins. Hawkins was presented his certificate at the January coffee hosted by Orangefield ISD.  He received gift certificates and gifts from several local merchants

Hawkins is the son of Clint and Angela Hawkins.  He has a GPA of 4.44 and is ranked 15 of 121 students.

His awards and honors include: All A honor roll, area qualifier for poultry judging, youth leadership southeast texas and vice president of the senior class

Clubs and organizations include: National Honor Society, student council member, Future Farmers of America, UIL accounting team, Young Christian Conservative Club and varsity tennis team

Ty has volunteered at Orangefield football games, Human Society, The Meadows Retirement Home and organized a 5K for the USA in community service.

After graduation, Hawkins plans to attend Lamar University to obtain a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting. After college he plans to become a Certified Public Accountant hoping to one day open his own business.
