The Bridge City Powerlifting Team recently hosted their Invitational meet. Overall the girls placed second and the boys placed third. Individual results are as follows:

Girls results – 

Sophomore, Lauren Grooms placed first in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 710 pounds; Juniors, Alyssa Fukuda placed first in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 620 pounds, Carlee Dearing placed first in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 640 pounds, Samantha Hargrave placed second in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 640 pounds and Autumn Magnuson placed third in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 580 pounds; senior, Emily Warren placed first in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 805 pounds.

Lauren Grooms, received the title of Best Lifter for the 97 to 148 weight classes. She also received the honors of claiming the best Deadlift by lifting 320 pounds and having the second best bench press of 140 pounds. Emily Warren also received the title of Best Lifter for the 165 to 220+ weight classes. She also received the best squat by lifting 325 pounds, best deadlift by lifting 305 pounds and second best bench press of 175. Samantha Hargrave had second best squat with a weight of 265 pounds and Carlee Dearing was the third best lifter overall for the 165 to 220+ weight classes.  Carlee also benched the third best bench of 135 pounds.

Boys results – 

Freshmen, Alex Williams placed second in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 415 pounds, Jack Fontenot placed fifth in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 860 pounds and Floyd Martin placed first in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 570 pounds; Junior, Zayne Trahan placed second in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 1215 pounds and seniors, Jacob Trahan placed second in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 1,010 pounds and Hollis Snell placed first in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 1035 pounds.

Jacob Trahan was the best lifter of the 114 to 165 weight classes and Hollis Snell took home third best lifter. He had the best squat and deadlift and Hollis had third best squat and deadlift and lifted the second best bench.
