Thursday, Feb. 11, at about 11:30 am, an Alamo, Tx. man was arrested for being in possession of approximately 132 pounds of cocaine. Mauro Cano Moreno was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, which is a first degree felony.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office Deputies observed a white Volvo Tractor Trailer truck traveling eastbound failing to drive in a single lane.  Deputies initiated a traffic stop on eastbound Interstate 10 near the 861 mile marker.

Mauro Cano Moreno, of Alamo was arrested Thursday for possessing 132 pounds of cocaine. The cocaine, which was located in Moreno's truck in 60 bundles, has a street value of 4.8 million dollars.

During the traffic stop, Moreno gave consent to search the vehicle and during the search of the vehicle, Deputy’s located 60 bundles of white powder believed to be cocaine. The bundles tested positive for Cocaine and were determined to weigh about 132 pounds with an approximate street value of 4.8 million dollars. 

Moreno was transported to the Orange County Correctional Facility and bond was set at $200,000.
