Troopers are investigating an accident in Orange County that left a motorcyclist dead. Twenty-eight year old John Michael Castillo, of Vidor was riding a motorcycle, North on FM 1442 when a pick up truck, driven by 62 year old Todd Longron of Orange was approaching from the South.

Longron attempted to turn off FM 1442 onto Cajun Way and failed to yield the right of way striking the motorcycle. Castillo, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was airlifted to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Longron was not injured in the crash.

The accident is still being investigated.
