LifeShare Blood Centers invites the public to donate blood in honor of first responders and recent fallen officers for the Cuffs & Hoses blood drive Friday, July 22 in Orange, from 1-5 p.m., at the Police Department, 201 8th St. and at the Stark Museum, 501 7th St., for the Fire Department.

“Many of those who serve and protect our community will be giving more of themselves by donating blood at these drives. We hope the community they serve will also take some time to save a life by donating blood in their honor. It is an easy, meaningful way for residents to show their strength of community and support for our police and fire departments,” says Tina Hooper, spokesperson for LifeShare Blood Centers.

Blood donors will receive a Cuffs & Hoses blood donor t-shirt at the drive. Blood is used every day for patients in the community. While the majority of blood is typically used for cancer patients, persons with blood disorders, or undergoing surgery, multiple units of blood are often needed immediately to sustain life of trauma and accident victims. It is blood donated at least one day prior to the need that is used by patients.

For more information about blood donation visit www.lifeshare.org or call 409-838-5289.
