“Back the Blue” at BC Elementary

Officer Ronnie Denton, from the Bridge City Police Dept., spoke to BCE’s first graders on Wednesday. He spoke about how police officers are one of the many community helpers and how students should not be afraid to ask them for help.

He explained what a policeman carries on their belt and about gun safety, as well as talking to the students about their part in bus safety. Denton’s lecture reinforces the 1st grade Social Studies unit on community and citizenship.
