Michael "Mike" Kelvin Mitchel Jr., 55, died Sunday, Sept. 11, at his home. Mike served his country in the U.S. Air Force and loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Cathy Mitchel; daughter, Jennifer Stassi and her husband Brett of Plaquemine, LA; son, Michael Kelvin Mitchel, III, of White Castle, LA; five grandchildren and a brother, Kelly Mitchel of Beaumont.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Michael, Sr and Aliyah Mitchel.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.
