William David Smith, 82, Beaumont

William David Smith, 82, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on December 10, 2016. He was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, on February 14, 1934, to Adele Moore and W.D. Smith. David was employed by Jefferson County Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse and Director of the Unity House Treatment Center. David was instructor for Lamar University Port Arthur and also the Stiles Unit. He was a friend of Bill for thirty-three years.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Smith; daughter, Jan Smith Havens and her husband, Mickey, of Georgetown; sons, David Mark Smith and his wife, Shirley, and Rory Keith Smith, all of Nacogdoches; daughter, Pamela Patterson and her husband, Parrish, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Amanda Sanchez and her husband, David, of Fort Worth; Alisa Walch and her husband, Dan, of Austin; Kira Blaney and her husband, Bryce, of Nacogdoches; Tiffanie Smith of The Woodlands; Christopher Smith and his wife, Sine, of Honolulu, Hawaii; Lauren Patterson of Beaumont; and Collin Patterson of Beaumont; great-grandchildren, Naomi Sanchez, Landon Blaney, and Kendall Blaney.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of Mr. Smith’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Broussard’s. A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Eden Cemetery, Nacogdoches.
