Charles Lee Moore, Sr., 69, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017, at Gulf Healthcare, in Port Arthur, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM, on Thursday, March 2, 2017, with a Service of Remembrance starting at 8:00PM, at Dorman Funeral Home.

Charles was born on Saturday, October 18, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Annalou (Tant) and Paul Eugene Moore.

Shortly after he was born, Charles and his family moved to Orange, Texas, where he remained a lifelong resident.

Charles and his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Jane (Calais), shared a wonderful marriage and together raised a beautiful family.

He was a hard working man, who worked for many years as a carpenter.

Charles was a long-term member and former President of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

He was also named an Honorary Member of the Eagle Riders.

Spending time with his grandchildren and fishing were some of Charles’ most beloved pastimes.

He could also be found shooting pool, throwing darts, and singing karaoke.

Charles was a Christian man of the Baptist faith, who attended Calvary Baptist Church, in West, Orange, Texas.

He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be missed by many.

Preceding Charles in death are his parents, Annalou and Paul Moore; sister, Linda Sue Moore; brothers, Donald Eugene Moore, Douglas Wayne Moore, and Dennis Richard Moore; and his beloved Dachshunds, Maggie and Dudley.

Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Moore; daughters, Dana Marie Cormier and her husband, Bryan, of Crowley, Louisiana, and Dianna Lynn Abshire and her husband, Kenneth, of Baytown, Texas; sons, Charles Lee Moore, Jr.

and his wife, Brandy, of Houston, Texas, Paul Joseph Moore and his wife, Misty, of Fort Myers, Florida, William Joseph Bacon and his wife, Trish, of Bridge City, Texas, and Hilton Barnett Bacon and his wife, Lana, of Bridge City, Texas; sisters, Norma Jean Holder of Orangefield, Texas, Cheryl Ann Van Pelt of Orange, Texas, Donna Marie Ashworth of Orange, Texas, and Paula Jane Merrell of Orange, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, members of extended family, and friends.
