ST. Mary Catholic Church Soup Kitchen

Every Wednesday St. Mary Catholic Church hosts the Soup Kitchen at the parish hall for the community. This soup kitchen is organized by Johnny and Glenda Lucia, volunteers and parishioners. The Lucias are graduates of St. Mary Catholic School. They graduated when the school still included a high school. They have lived out their Christian faith throughout their lives. As they are now both retired, they spend a large amount of their time doing as Jesus taught.

Several years ago the St. Mary Catholic School National Junior Honor Society took on the Soup Kitchen as a service project. The honor society includes only 8th graders. Students from the Honor Society began to help serve. Over the years, the project has expanded to include 6th and 7th graders also.

There are also many other people that spend most of their Wednesdays at the St. Mary Soup Kitchen volunteering for this worthy cause.
