Teachers and staff at Pine Forest Elementary in Vidor raised $300 for the American Cancer Society and Orange County’s Relay for Life through a “Kiss the Pig” fundraising contest.
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Honey Bears have been invited to perform at Downtown Disney World over spring break. The girls have spent many hours preparing and held numerous fundraisers to offset the cost of their trip.

Ten Bridge City finalists entertained judges and audience members Sunday with the presentation of speeches and readings in interpretive literature for the 106th Stark Contest in Reading and Declamation.
Bridge City High School competed at the Port Neches-Groves UIL Academic Meet in February. Results from this contest are: Number Sense- Jessica Kelly placed 4th, Lisa Huynh placed 5th and Jacob Howard placed 6th. The Number Sense team of Jessica Kelly, Lisa Huynh, and Jacob Howard took 2nd place.

This spring outstanding high school students from across the United States took part in a unique career development program in our nation’s capital. During the six-day program, the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security (NYLF/NS): Exploring American Diplomacy, Intelligence and Defense introduced students to the challenging careers in national security, intelligence, the diplomatic corps and more.
The West Orange-Stark AP Government class traveled to Austin Feb. 17-20 for an educational experience. The seniors heard oral arguments in three cases given before the justices of the Texas Supreme Court at the University of Texas School of Law.
