UPDATE:

Colorado City, Texas- Over 200 citizens came together on Friday and began their search for missing 13-year old Hailey Darlene Dunn. Multiple groups of 15 or more citizens headed to at least three different areas surrounding Colorado City.

The citizens are focusing north of Colorado City on State Hwy. 208 near the town of Dunn. Many of the volunteers had been searching for Hailey since she first disappeared 11 days ago. They met at Mitchell County Court House and organized their efforts.

Non uniform law enforcement teams canvassed the neighborhood around Hailey’s home conducting interviews asking for assistance in locating her. An estimated 25 square miles of Colorado City have been searched, in addition to 6 square miles in Dunn.

Hailey was last seen by her mother’s live-in boyfriend, Shawn Adkins. Adkins reported he was told by Hailey around 3:15 p.m. that she would be walking to her dad’s house then spending the night with a friend. She never returned and wasn't at either location. Hailey's mother, Billie Dunn, reported her missing the next day on Dec. 28.

In a 4 p.m. press release, DPS Trooper Phillip Dean stated additional resources are being sought on an “as needed basis.”

Additional agencies and officers are in Colorado City and behind the scenes in Dallas to assist. The task force, which numbered 30 yesterday, continues to grow as officials seek specialists in certain fields.

“We are asking anyone that may have information, no matter how large or small, to call the Colorado City Police Department at 325-728-5294,” Pete Kampfer, city manager said. Those interested in up to date information can visit, http://www.coloradocitytexas.org

Colorado City, Texas- Texas law enforcement agencies, the Texas Rangers and the FBI are searching for clues in the case of a 13-year-old Colorado City Middle School cheerleader who has been missing since December 27.

Hailey Darlene Dunn was reported missing by her mother Billie Dunn after she failed to return home the day after she was supposed to spend the night at a friend’s house over the Christmas holiday break.

Residents of Colorada City are being asked to gather at the Mitchell County Courthouse on Friday afternoon to create search parties. The

residents join the efforts of 12 law enforcement and missing

child agencies that have combined efforts to work on

the case of the missing teen.

Search parties will be going house-to-house knocking on doors across the northern side of Colorado City. Search officials used helicopters, horses and dogs – and even state

prison inmates – to search creek beds in Colorado City and the perimeter

of the city Wednesday and Thursday.

Hailey is 5’1, 120 pounds, has hazel eyes, and brown hair with blond streaks.

When she disappeared, she was wearing navy blue sweat pants, a light-colored short sleeve T-shirt, and pink and white tennis shoes.

No statewide Amber Alert has been issued because the case has not met the criteria for issuing such an alert. State

officials have three times refused to issue the Amber Alert, Colorado

City officials say, because there is no physical evidence to show that

Hailey has been abducted or that she is facing physical harm.

Anyone with information regarding Hailey's whereabouts is urged to

call the Colorado City Police Department at 325-728-5294 or

325-728-3161.
