Bobcat Jr. High Cheerleaders back from UCA Camp

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

The 2010 Orangefield Jr. High Cheerleaders recently attended UCA Cheer Camp at the University of Texas in Austin. 

The girls won a 1st place trophy for their home dance pom routine, their first night at camp. The team had worked on the routine for weeks. They also brought home two red excellent ribbons; four blue superior ribbons; one gold superior ribbon and a trophy. They won a “Camp Champs” 2nd place trophy for their UCA cheer rountine. Each night the squad was also awarded a spirit stick. 

The mascot, Lori Baleaux, won two red excellent ribbons and one blue superior ribbon. She also brought home a plaque for the Traditions Spirit Award and won a spirit stick each night.
Than Tsan and Kortnie Frazier were selected to compete in the Jump Off contest. 

Individually Geri Jackson and Madison Ousley were named All-American Cheerleaders for the second year in a row. 

Shellie Lummus was awarded the Leadership Pen for the, “America Needs Cheerleaders” campaign. For the first time, the competition was held at night.

On the final morning it was held in the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
The squad is coached by Stephanie Edgerly and Karen Anthony.
