The City of Orange Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 600 block of DuPont Wednesday at 9:04 p.m. Orange Police were first on the scene; reporting smoke and flame were visible from a home located on the corner of DuPont and Florida.

According to a report from Orange Fire Chief Jerry Ziller, the first arriving fire crew attacked the fire and determined the house was not occupied. The back of the structure was heavily involved. The roof had partially collapsed venting heavy fire.

Fire crews took a defensive tactic to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported and the home owner was contacted.

Ziller said the cause of the fire is currently under investigation and has not been determined.
