LCM HS teacher arrested

On Thursday Jan. 26, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Administration at the Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD concerning a student at LCM High School that had made an outcry concerning an Improper Relationship between educator and student.

Deputies responded and obtained information from school district officials about the alleged offense. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was contacted and conducted the investigation into this alleged incident.

The case was investigated and presented to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for review and disposition. The teacher was charged with having a sexual relationship with an underage student.

On Wednesday, Feb. 22, the case was presented to the Orange County Grand Jury and they indicted 32 year old Bryan Lee Hyde on two counts of improper relationship between an educator and student as well as two counts of sexual assault of a child. Hyde was a teacher at Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School.

On Thursday, Feb. 23, Hyde was arrested by deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Investigators with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Hyde faces a punishment range from two years probation up to twenty years in prison and a $10,000 fine on each count. Bond has been set at a total of $30,000. He is currently in the Orange County Correctional Facility.
