The Orange County Commissioners' Court will hold a special court session on Monday, May 16 at 2 p.m., in the Commissioners' Courtroom of the Orange County Administration Building, located at 123 S. 6th Street in Orange.

Deborah Rawls, Orange County auditor will ask the Court to discuss and take possible action regarding the payment of bills approved by the County Auditor, which include $1,150 to Dorman Funeral Home from the general fund for indigent funeral expenses. The full amount of bills due for the week will be announced at the meeting on Monday.

Rawls will give the County Auditor's financial report for the fiscal year to date through March 31. She will also ask the court to discuss and take possible action regarding a line item transfer for the Tax Assessor/Collector of $2,000 from the Office Machines budget to the Equipment Non-Inventory for the purpose of providing funds to reorganize the tax office customer service department.

Emergency Management Director, Jeff Kelley, will bring the Commissioners up to date on the current weather conditions for Orange County and will give his recommendation to either leave the Burn Ban in effect or to lift it. The Commissioners will take action if necessary.

Kelley will then provide the court with any updates on the projects that are currently being handled by his office. The Commissioners will take action if necessary.

Orange County Purchasing Agent, Connie Cassidy, will ask the Commissioners to discuss and take possible action regarding awarding Moore Land Management, LLC. the bid on the Orange County Airport Mowing and Application of Herbicides and Insecticides.

Cassidy will also ask the Court to discuss and take possible action regarding awarding Sandifer's L.P. Gas & Service Co., Inc. the bid for the Orange County Transportation Propane Fuel Tank Station, Texas Propane Fleet Pilot Program, Grant Agreement No. 5050205.

The Court will hear a short, five minute report from the Personnel Department, Emergency Management Department, Orange County Airport and the Loss Control office. Each will also provide a short, written report to the members of the Court. The Commissioners will take action if necessary.

The Court will then go into an open court session for comments from the Court and Orange County Citizens on items which may or may not need to be placed on the following week(s) agenda for consideration. Each person addressing the Court may be limited to three minutes.

Assistant County Attorney, Doug Manning, will ask the Court to go into a closed meeting. The Commissioners will discuss, with Assistant County Attorney, GRG v. Orange County, et al, in the 163rd District Court of Orange County, Texas.

The Court will return to an open meeting to take any action deemed necessary based upon the discussion in the closed meeting.

Manning will then ask the Court to go into another closed meeting to discuss, the purchase, sale, lease or exchange of real property. Discussion of the matter in open session would adversely affect the County's negotiations with a third party.
