Mauriceville search leads to arrests

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday Nov. 2 at approximately 8:30 a.m.

officers with the Orange County Area Special Weapons and Tactics team executed a search and arrest warrant at a residence located at 3494 Martha in Mauriceville.

Upon entry, investigators located approximately eight pounds of marijuana, an amount of alprazolam tablets and hydrocodone tablets.

As the search progressed investigators recovered eighteen firearms which were located in various places through out the residence.

Those arrested were 32 year old, white, male, Marcus Wayne Vines,and 21 year-old, white female,Tara Denea McKinney.

Both were charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of felony possession of marihuana.

Bond was set at $10,000.00 for each defendant.

Citizen complaints and a month long investigation by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Services Division and the Port Arthur Police Department resulted in the search warrant.

This case will be referred to the United States Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
