Area schools celebrate the holidays

Oates Elementary students presented a Christmas program to parents and community Monday night.

All fourth and fifth grade classes presented musical numbers.

The Oates Elementary band also performed.

Pati Paulino and Kathy Smith, fine arts and band instructors, directed the program.

West Orange – Stark High School choir presented A CHRISTMAS RHAPSODY, a dinner fundraiser concert this month.

The holiday evening featured seasonal music from the choir, and performances by guest artists, and an extravagant yuletide meal.

WO-S choir members’ parents’ organized the event, prepared the meal, and served with the assistance of WO-S High School Culinary Arts.

The choir is directed by Ruth Houston.

She is assisted by Angela Greer.

Brenda Lee is the choir accompanist.

O. Taylor Co The West Orange – Stark High School Honor Society collected toys for the Salvation Army recently.

Honor Society officers Chase Adams, vice-president, and Rebecca Griffin, treasurer, delivered the toys.

The toy drive is one of many community service drives sponsored by the WO-S High School organization.

Bettie Curtis is the WO-S High School Honor Society sponsor.

Simmye Griffin, parent, accompanied the group as they delivered the toys.
