Orangefield Lady Bobcats winning streak perfect

The Lady Bobcats’ winning streak remains a perfected 5-0 in district action downing the Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns in a down-to-the-buzzer 57-52 victory Friday night in Orangefield.

The win helped solidified the Lady Bobcats’ sole possession of first place in Dist.

21-3A. Senior guard Kaylin Little scored a team-high 18 points including two three-pointers and five steals.

The victory was no easy feat, however, for the Lady Bobcats as first year head coach Chris Jost rallied the team past a Hamshire-Fannett 41-39 lead late in the third period and only trailed 43-41 heading into the fourth.

Junior Jessica Weldon hit the net for 15 points recording four steals and three assists.

Allie Beach added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Certainly no new comer to Lady Bobcat basketball, renowned senior Laura Riddick posted seven rebounds and three steals in the victory.

Olivia Wagner had three steals, three assists and three rebounds.

Aimee Scales added four rebounds and three steals.

The Lady Bobcats’ defense smothered the Lady Longhorns causing 27 turnovers.

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats will travel to face West Orange-Stark on Tuesday in another round of Dist.
