The City of Bridge City needs a new City Manager. Current City Manager Don Fields submitted his letter of resignation to Mayor Kirk Roccaforte during the city council meeting Tuesday night. Fields' plans to leave the city manager post Feb. 29. He became city manager following the resignation of Jeff Ellington in March 2001 under then Mayor Bobbie Burgess. Formerly, he had been the Public Works Director for the City of Bridge City since 1998. Fields, who has held several positions in city government over the past 30 years, plans to retire.
