Mabel Gentry, 79, of Orange, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008 at Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange.

Officiating will be Rev. Jay Thomas of McArthur Heights Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Williamson’s Cemetery in Vidor.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Mabel was born on Feb. 4, 1928, in Orange.

She was the daughter of Joseph and Fannie Mae (Stoffer) Spring.

Mrs. Gentry retired as a custodian at LCMISD and was a member of Texas Teacher’s Retirement Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Allen Gentry.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd Dean Gentry and Henrietta of Orange, and Larry Gentry and Alexandra “Cookie” of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Deana and Lijo Joseph, Anna and Scott Bandy, and Juliette Gentry; and great-grandchildren, Lane Joseph, Libby Joseph, and Addison Bandy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Residence Council Fund at Optimst Village, 3650 Optimist Way, Orange, TX 77630.
