Correctional officer arrested

At about 5 p.m.

this afternoon detectives with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested Corrections Officer Clifford Gonzales taking possession of property he believed to be stolen.

Detectives received information that Mr. Gonzales was trying to obtain stolen four-wheelers.

Their investigation concluded with the arrest this afternoon.

Mr. Gonzales has been with the Sheriff’s Office as a corrections officer since June 2006.

Sheriff Mike White said that he is pleased with the swift and thorough manner in which the internal investigation was conducted.

Mr. Gonzales was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail on a charge of felony theft. A bond was set by Judge Rodney Price, Justice of Peace Pct.

4, at $20,000.
