Project Orange ThumbSM Prog Inspires Creative Expression
Since 2003, Fiskars has inspired and encouraged creative expression through gardening with Project Orange Thumb.
To promote sustainable agriculture, horticultural education, community involvement as well as neighborhood beautification, ten grants will be offered in 2008.
Community organizations, schools, gardening clubs, senior centers or other groups interested in fostering gardening within their community are invited to apply for Fiskars’ 2008 Project Orange Thumb Grant.
Awardees will receive up to $1,500 in Fiskars garden tools and $800 for plant materials to cultivate their garden vision.
Deadline for grant applications is Feb. 15, and winners will be announced March 15.

BCHS Class of 1968 looking for classmates
The Bridge City High School Class of 1968 will hold their 40th year class reunion on May 17. Organizers are looking for classmates and ask that you register at www.classreport.com

Bridge City I.S.D. School Board Recognition
January is School Board Recognition Month. Bridge City I.S.D. school children benefit every day from the dedication and commitment to public education of our local trustees. They all make personal sacrifices and spend countless hours conducting the business of the District.

LC Lions Club hosts Valentine Dance
The Little Cyress Lions are hosting a Valentine Charity Dance featuring "The Sabine River Band" from 7 p.m. until midnight, Feb. 9th, at the VFW Hall on N. Hwy. 87 in Orange, Texas.
Food and drinks will be served, along with a Door Prize.

Learn to hunt the safe way
AHunter Education certification class will be held 5:30 p.m.- 8:00 p.m, Friday, Feb. 8 and 8:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at the D.E.R.A.
Those born on or after Sept. 2, 1971, that are 17 years old must be certified. Those at least 12 years old can be ceritified.
Cost is $15 per person.
