Shirley Marie McCall, 80, of Orange, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange.

Officiating will be Rev. Barry Bradley, pastor of First Baptist Church in Orange.

Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m.

Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. McCall was born in Orange on April 17, 1927, to Roland Robert Gravett and Elcie Maure (Sanders) Gravett.

On July 3, 1947, she married William Cleon McCall.

She was a dedicated wife, homemaker and mother to their 10 children.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Orange where she was a Sunday School teacher in the pre-school division for many years.

Mrs. McCall was involved in the lives of her children.

She raised them in the church, was a member of PTA and served as Home Room mother in the Little Cypress School district for many years.

Shirley and Cleon built a mountain home in North Carolina and enjoyed sharing time between there and Orange.

The North Carolina home was also a great place for the children to vacation as well.

Mrs. McCall was involved in the RSVP program in Orange, keeping in contact with the elderly of the area.

She enjoyed the company of her friends in the church and community, often sharing lunch with them.

She lived at the Sabine House in Orange where she enjoyed playing bingo and watching the birds from her window.

She was well cared for by the staff and we appreciate all of the love and care given to our mother over the last year.

Mrs. McCall was preceded in death by her husband, Cleon; parents, Maure Gravett and Roland and Trema Gravett; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Sally Gravett; brother, Bobby Gravett; infant brother, Frank Edward Gravett; and son-in-law, Eugene Willingham.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jean and Joe White of Houston, Patricia Willingham of Vicksburg, Miss., Phyllis McCall, Nita and Glynn Aldredge, Richard and Sandy McCall, all of Orange, Dale and Madelon McCall of Waco, Mark and Jackie McCall of Deweyville, Beth and Ray Tearall of England, Margaret Droddy and Betty McCall, both of Williamsport, Pa..

Also surviving are her grandchildren and their spouses, Dawn White and her fiancé, Mike Savage, Duane and Crystal White, Daryl and Emily White, Ricky and Melinda McCall, Andrea and Joey Boyd, Cliff and Kristen Aldredge, Scott Aldredge, Chris McCall, Julie McCall and B.J. Jones, Nikki McCall, Tyler McCall, Anna McCall, and Olivia Droddy.

Shirley is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Caleb, David and Elisabeth Boyd, Carson and Abigail McCall and Hayden Jones; brothers and their spouses, Don and Quita Gravett of New Braunfels, Tommy and Marji Gravett of Willmington, Del.; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Duane White, Daryl White, Ricky McCall, Joey Boyd, Cliff Aldredge and Scott Aldredge.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandson, Tyler McCall, serving in the U.S. Army, B.J. Jones and Mike Savage.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr.

Marty Rutledge and his staff; the South West Texas Home Health Care and especially to the staff at Harbor Hospice for the wonderful care given to our mother.

For those who wish, memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
