Body found in Sabine River

Today at approximately 2:30pm the body of a white male was found and recovered in a slip off the Sabine River.

The body was located in the vicinity of where a white male was reported missing from a tow boat on Thursday, Jan. 24.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Marine Division assisted in the search and was able to locate the body in approximately 20 feet of water utilizing an underwater sonar imaging system.

Judge Parkhurst, Justice of the Peace, Pct.

#1 has ordered an autopsy.

The body was transported to the Jefferson County Morgue.

The autopsy will be conducted tomorrow.

Positive identification of the body has not been made.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division continues with the investigation.
