Little Cypress Junior High will host an informational Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) Night for parents on Thursday, February 7 following the School Report Card meeting. The Report Card meeting begins at 5:30 and will be held in the cafeteria. Staff will explain the school and district results on both the state, Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) and the Federal, No Child Left Behind (NCLB) reports.

Following the Report Card meeting, parents of seventh and eighth graders are invited to stay for a TAKS informational meeting, which begins at 6:00 p.m. and will last until 7:00 p.m. Pizza and drinks will be provided for this session, so those planning to attend should register by e-mailing their names to [email protected] or by calling 883-2317.

Seventh grade parents will be in room 406 and parents of eighth graders will be in room 507. Among other things, parents will be given information on when TAKS tests will be taken; what the objectives of the tests are; what the test looks like; how to help your child reach his or her highest potential; and what the test scores mean.
