Veronica Ann Lummus, 43, of Deweyville, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont after a brief illness. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 10, 2008 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Brother John Fortenberry with Calvary Baptist Church in Deweyville. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Born on July 9, 1964 in Orange, Texas to Charles Ray Welch, Sr. and Jannette Mosley Welch, she had lived in Florida and Hawaii before returning to Orange twelve years ago. Veronica was a member of the Baptist faith, a homemaker and she enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers with her family, reading and helping people in need.

Veronica is preceded in death by her father, maternal grandfather, Julius Mosley and her paternal grandparents, Aubrey and Elaine Welch.

Those who will cherish her memory are her husband, Jerry Lummus, Sr.

of Deweyville; mother, Jannette Welch of Orange; maternal grandmother, Eloise Mosley of Deweyville; daughters, Jennifer Michelle Evans and fiancé Emanuel Reynolds of Mauriceville, Kimberly Rene’ Evans of Wetumpka, Alabama and Mary Ellean Lummus of Deweyville; sons, Christopher Robert Evans and wife Amara Joy of Groton, Connecticut and Jerry Wayne Lummus, Jr.

of Deweyville; sisters, Stephanie Marie Hand and husband James Wayne of Mauriceville and Virginia Lee Juarez of Orange; brother, Charles Ray Welch, Jr.

of Orange; grandson, Ace Christopher Evans of Groton, Connecticut; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The Lummus family wishes to express their thanks to the doctors and staff of Harbor Hospice in Beaumont for their loving care of Veronica.
