One lucky ticket-holder will win the pot of $10,000 in gold at the end of AMSET’s annual fund-raising event 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2008 Tickets: $100 – includes dinner, cocktails and one entry in the Go for the Gold drawing

Beaumont, Texas — The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) is a treasure in itself, but on Thursday, March 6, AMSET is sharing the wealth at the 13th annual Go for the Gold Party and Reverse Drawing, beginning at 6:30 p.m. This most popular and entertaining event gives three lucky ticket-holders a chance to win unbelievable prizes in gold, magically turning $100 into $10,000 for the first place winner.

For the ticket cost of $100, participants receive admission, dinner and cocktails for two along with one entry into the most exciting drawing in town. Go for the Gold is a reverse drawing, meaning that the last three ticket stubs drawn from the golden hopper are the winners of: 3rd Place $1,000 in Gold 2nd Place $1,500 in Gold 1st Place $10,000 in Gold

Go for the Gold is such a thrilling event because of the chance to win such fantastic prizes, and the process of the reverse drawing is such fun,” said AMSET Executive Director Lynn Castle. “These American Double Eagle coins that we give away each year have a value that depends not only on the price of gold, but also their value on the collectors’ market.”

Since Go for the Gold has proved to be a sell-out event, AMSET is raising the limit of tickets to be sold to 500 this year, and advance tickets sell quickly.

Go for the Gold 2008 is chaired by Kristi Dodd, and dinner will be provided by Two Magnolias.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit AMSET’s educational programs and exhibitions.
