Russell Slade, 80, of Orange, passed away
Friday, February 15, 2008 in Orange. Visitation will
be from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday February 17th
at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.
Born on July 3, 1927 in Monroe, Louisiana to Ivy
Lee and Cleta Mae (Hilton) Slade, he moved to and
resided in Orange since childhood. He did work as a
laborer in the area refineries and at other businesses
such as Hoyt’s Hardware in Orange. In his earlier
life, Mr. Slade enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in
the outdoors among wildlife. His pasttimes in later
life were playing dominoes, watching sporting events
on t.v. and visiting with friends. He still enjoyed
the outdoors and would usually be found sitting
outside enjoying the day.
Mr. Slade is preceded in death by his parents, his
sister, Jeanne McDonald and his nephew, Jimmy Pinion.
He is survived by his niece, Betty Pinion
of Crosby, Texas; great nephew, Jim Pinion and family;
and great niece, Jennifer Pinion and family; and dear
friends and neighbors.
