Marialiece Saucier was named as Bridge City Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the year at their recent banquet.

You could see her face turning as red as her hair as she realized it was she that Beverly Perry was speaking about as she was describing all the characteristics and dedication that contributed to this year’s winner.

Born and raised in Bridge City, Saucier is a product of Bridge City’s school system.

She learned to design and arrange flowers by working with her mom.

She later opened her own shop to support herself and her two kids, Dom and Adrian.

“Even though she was struggling to make a living, she always found the time and energy to volunteer wherever she was needed.

She had a hard time not raising her hand for a project,” said Perry.

She is a past president of the Chamber, has held most of the offices, chaired many special projects and always makes her expertise available.

“She arrives with her tool box, tape, sissors, and yards and yards of bellowing net and toile, and magic happens,” said Perry.

“Her dedication extends to the tearing down and cleaning.” Saucier has been a member of the Rotary Club of Bridge City/Orangefield since 1991.

She is a past president, served on the board for many years, and is currently serving as Secretary.

Married for almost 10 years to Lester Saucier, she now works full time as office manager in the family’s bussiness.

She started “Dream Catcher Wedding & Events” a couple years ago to fulfill her creative side.

Saucier plans events such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, grand openings, etc.

Nicknamed “The Redhead,” she is always ready to lend a helping hand.

“If you want to get a job done right, call the busiest person you know.” For many, that person would be Marialiece Saucier.
