The newest addition to the rambling Texas Longhorn Entertainment Complex which already includes the South’s largest nightclub, a casino, restaurant, motel and truck stop is a new 4,000 seat rodeo arena which will cater to Professional, amateur and high school Cowboys and girls and rodeo fans of all ages, contain a new motel, RV Park and ultimately the possibility of an arena football team.
According to Ray Cotton: "…this will truly be a family entertainment center with rodeo events for adults, kids and something to see and do for the whole family".  The Longhorn Rodeo which is currently indoors at the Club will move outdoors with it’s exciting selection of PBR and CBR bulls, horse events and other rodeo attractions.
Cotton added: "this will be a full feature rodeo attraction with saddle bronc, calf roping, team roping, barrel racing and everything you can imagine and be a great venue for high school and pro-rodeo riders".  The site will also serve as a giant flea market one weekend a month drawing bargain hunters and vendors from the whole Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas region.
Cotton, an award winning rancher and cattleman has operated rodeo and other venues for nearly 40 years in the area and has the reputation of always building bigger and better and putting on a great show with the finest state-of-the-art facilities.
Today’s 4PM ceremonial groundbreaking will be one highlight of an exciting day at The Longhorn: The Marshall Tucker Band live concert and bullriding events are slated for later tonight in the club and patrons get all entertainment for only $25.
Currently The Longhorn Entertainment Complex employs some 120 people; the new construction phase is expected to employ approximately 25-30 with the potential for 20-35 new permanent jobs.
